meisterbrief

1964

Franz Dotzauer

Foundation of the metalworking shop Franz Dotzauer in a basement in the 15th district of Vienna. At the beginning only components for crystal lights had been produced but the production of entire lights developed quickly.

1972

New Location
Manfred Dotzauer

As a result of good order situation and lack of space, the whole production moved to a new built plant in the south of Vienna, Brunn am Gebirge.  An courageous step for a small company at that time, but this region is one of the most expanding business locations in the east of Austria today. Addtional to the increasing production possiblities, intentions became more and more realistic to export dotzauer chandeliers over the boarders of Austria too. First export projects followed. Further Dotzauer was able to acquire the KIKA/LEINER-Group (one of the biggest furniture stores in Austria), which has been kept now for years, due to rationalizing the standard production.

1976

First big export order for the palace ot the Sultan of Kelantan in Malaysia. Crystal chandeliers with Maria -Theresia-Style were delivered in different sizes for the new designed palace.

1980

Because of risen sales both at home and abroad the existing poduction hall became extended by an annex for the first time and a little show room for sales ex works was furnished. Further an internal design department, as an extension of the technical office, was furnished to be able to meet the growing requirements for customized light fittings especially for the project and housing field.

The sale ex works developed more and more and the range became enlarged by the gift articles of Swarovski already popular at that time.

The set up over the years as well as the reliable deliveries led to further prestige orders abroad like the Royal Pavilion at the King Fahd Airport in Saudi Arabia.

1988

The whole front became re-designed and it presents itself in distinguished blue now. At the same time also an assembly shop and a store were built.

1990

Awarding of the National Decoration for extraordinary export achievement by the Minister of Trade and Commerce Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel.

1996

Large order of crystal chandeliers Maria-Theresia for the complete equipment of the renovated presidential palace in Singapore. The show-piece is the  3,6 x 1,8 m oval central chandelier with almost 100 flames.

1997

Further increase of the production volume - an assembly hall, more than 7 m high, a completely new hall for the glassworks as well as the extension of the offices and the showroom became finished. Since then Dotzauer is producing crystal chandeliers and decorative lighting in more than 2.000 sqm.
